I’m kind of speechless, this wine is great!

The wine is a single vineyard gem on original rootstock (65-70 year old vines) that gives very flavorful and rich results without being heavy or overtly in your face. This wine dictates a new consciousness of Argentinean Malbec for US consumers - one that is outstanding at the table or with a friend alone as an accompaniment to conversation. — Jon Rimmerman, owner of Garagiste

Garagiste discovers and then conveys selections of remarkable, unusual and often challenging vinum to its more-than-200,000 subscribers . Rimmerman says that Garagiste does, on average, $30 million in annual sales.

One of the major reasons for Malbec’s ongoing popularity is the reliability of these hearty Argentine reds. The flip side of that is that they can be a bit monolithic, with few true standouts. Well, the Adelante Malbec 2015 ($15) is the exception that proves the rule, a truly distinctive offering sourced from 70-year-old vines in the Mendoza region. Yes, it shows the typical tasty, rich dark-berry (black and blue) and spice notes, but with much more complexity and structure than most of its peers.

Wine Chateau

Intense and bold, yet fresh and lively, this Malbec has pure blue fruit flavors accented by minerality, earth and spice. The wine has ample acid, structure, and body to give length to the finish that will develop in the glass and over time in the bottle.

A juicy, ripe nose leads to plump blue fruits on the palate with a nice, fleshy mouthfeel. Some stony terroir notes add complexity. This feels balanced and elegant. The old vines are evident.

The philosophy of Adelante is to start with nature and have a soft imprint.  Most importantly, they aim to produce a wine that is an expression of the land.  The elevation and cool climate result in a wine with brighter acidity, spicy fruit, and better balance

K&U. Die Weinhalle

Malbecs with their very own Argentine personality! They carry the tango within them, combining the aura of aloofness with natural inner freshness in a cool soul. Fascinating uniqueness, dense and compact in the mouth, sophisticatedly smooth, pleasantly cool and refreshing due to the extreme altitude of its vineyards, which lie at the foot of the Andes between 800 and 1000 m high. Argentina's new generation Malbecs smell of blueberries, laurel and juniper, do not require any artificial acidification or fining and convey a wonderful, velvety melt in soft, presently contoured tannins that demonstrate an independent taste profile and a naturally 'beautiful' mouthfeel.

The value of good Argentinian Malbecs is remarkable, their character is unmistakable and their quality encourages us to take a closer look at them.

The colorful, playful label on the Adelante Malbec gives you some indication of the nature of the wine inside the bottle; fruity, forward, easy to like and downright gulp-able.  What it doesn’t convey is the hard work and dedication that goes into this reasonably-price red wine.

There really is quite a lot of wine in the bottle, made even more attractive by its ridiculous low price.  One taste should confirm that the Adelante Malbec is the real deal and a winery to keep an eye on for future releases.
